Premium floor care
Before any chemical touch the floor, the environment needs to be secured. Clear the Area: Move all furniture, rugs and equipment. Safety First: Place "wet floor" signs at all entry points. Dust Mop: Remove loose dirt, debris, and hair to prevent gumming up the pads. Protect baseboards: Use painters tape or a splash guard to prevent stripper from staining walls or baseboards. The Stripping Process This is where the old, yellow wax is broken down. Mix Solution: Dilute the floor stripper according to the manufacturers specs (using cold water is standard for most strippers). Apply Stripper: Liberally apply the solution using a mop, working in manageable sections (roughly 10x10 ft). Dwell Time: Let the solution sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Note do not let the floor dry. Agitate/Scrub: Use a floor machine with a black stripping pad to grind away the old finish. Detail Edges: Hand scrub corners and edges where the machine can't reach. Recovery and Neutralizing the goal here is a perfectly clean naked floor. Wet Vac: Remove the slurry the gross liquefied wax immediately. Rinse mop with clean water and then neutralizer. This ensures no high pH residue remains to ruin the new wax. The Squeak Test: Once dry, rub your hand or a clean cloth on the floor if it feels chalky or slick rinse again. Total Dry: Ensure the floor is 100% dry before proceeding. The Waxing finishing process. Time to bring back the shine. Select the right mop: Use a clean, lint-free microfiber finish mop. Apply Thin Coats: Less is more. Apply the first coat thinly and evenly. Dry Time: Wait for the coat to be dry to the touch usually 30 to 60 minutes depending on humidity. Repeat: Apply 3 to 5 coats for maximum durability and wet look depth. Post-Job Cleanup Inspect: Check for bubbles, streaks, or missed spots. Clean tools: Rinse mops and pads immediately wax hard and fast. Replace furniture wait at least 12 to 24 hours before moving heavy furniture back to prevent gouging.
